She's sitting on the edge of the tent, wringing out her wet skirt with a mutter of annoyance. A cute bunny plush doll sits by her side, resting with her.]

This is worse than before we made our debut... At least back then, we had some kind of hotel to stay in. [With dry clothes and futons and yeah, no one really knew them back then, but it was better than this.] Geez... How much longer will this go on?

[And then, remembering something, she reaches for a pokéball and summons her starter, Mawile, inside the tent. With those huge horns on her head that resemble jaws, Mawile is... intimidating to look at to say the least. Iori seems a little put off by her scary facade too.]

I guess I should finally decide on a name for you, huh? Just "Mawile" isn't pretty enough. If you're going to be my Pokémon, you have to be as cute and princess-like as your Trainer, okay? First lesson ♥

[Mawile does not comprehend this pretentiousness, but Iori thinks, tapping a finger to her chin.]

Let's see... "Claire"? "Amy"? "Marie"? "Giselle"? ... "Louise"? What do people name their Pokémon after anyway?

[None of these suggestions seem to have any effect on Mawile, who starts to wander off to the comfier parts of the tent. Meaning the pillow.]

I make a small list of names that I like and think suit the pokémon, and then I let them choose the one they like the most.

Eheh... I've decided to go with what sounds right. Like, my Ralts is pretty fierce, so I named him Ritsu! And my Rattata is Nezu.

I just use names of characters from movies.

It depends really, some names them after someone from back home, or just random names they think are awesome.

And sometimes they name them after their weapons.

In any case, I'd suggest picking a theme and sticking to it. For example, I've been naming my Pokemon after artists.

Name 'em after things you love.

I love myself so I named them all after me. Except my Rattata. It's named Machop. Little Johnny came up with that one.
